RouxChien Irish Setters is our kennel name, pronounced ROO SHANE, it means "Red Dog" in French in honor of my French Canadian roots. My Great Grandfather Joseph Edward Menard came to Northern Wisconsin from Canada as a young man and worked as a logger in the 1870's. Our land is located across the road from the farmland that he and my Great Grandmother Marie Mathilda Ausman homesteaded after their marriage on July 4th, 1878.
